Created in the early nineties, the City of Huntington Beach GIS was formed to address the request of the various city departments needing accurate mapping and spatial analysis tools. The system now includes over 500 layers containing information relating to property ownership, transportation, utilities, public safety, building and other features assembled to analyze transportation patterns, development trends, water system demand patterns, public safety service and response times, and a host of other city activities that directly affect the citizens of Huntington Beach.
