COMMUNITY SERVICES

Ballroom Dance - Adults of all ages are invited to "come dancing" at the Huntington Beach Council on Aging-sponsored, monthly ballroom dance at Rodgers Seniors' Center. The fee is $5 a person, which includes live music, snacks, and beverage. Dance hours are 7:30 - 10:30 p.m.

Rose Parade Excursion - Tickets are still available for the 117th Annual Rose Parade excursion, which includes transportation and grandstand seating. Buses depart from the Civic Center at 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, January 1. The fee is $90 per person, and tickets can be purchased on the 5th floor in Community Services.

Early Flu Shots - To prepare seniors for the upcoming flu season, the Orange County Health Care Agency will provide flu shots at Rodgers Seniors' Center, 1706 Orange Avenue, on Monday, October 17, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Fountain Valley Regional Hospital nurses and staff will administer the shots. Huntington Beach Senior Services Transportation Program provides a unique service to Huntington Beach seniors requesting transportation. On a scheduled route, seniors will be picked up from their home, brought to the parking lot of Rodgers where a nurse will board the bus and give the seniors their shots, and then the seniors will be bussed home. No waiting in line - in fact, the seniors do not even have to get out of their bus seat. To schedule a ride, call Senior Services Transportation at 374-1742.
