Economic Development
The Department of Economic Development preserves and enhances the economic base of the community through business attraction and retention programs and uses economic tools such as the California Redevelopment Law to revitalize blighted areas and to enhance affordable housing opportunities. The Community Development Block Grant assists by providing funds to improve and support low-moderate income areas and low-moderate persons through various approved programs. Housing Set-Aside (Redevelopment Funds) and the HOME Investment Partnership program are used to increase affordable housing opportunities.
