Everyone has an opportunity to support the City’s Centennial
On February 17, 2009, the City of Huntington Beach will celebrate its 100th Anniversary. The Centennial Celebration Committee has planned an incredible year of events and displays to tell the story of the history of Huntington Beach and provide all residents an opportunity to honor the City’s past and celebrate its future. Some of the exciting celebration projects include the Tournament of Roses® Parade Float honoring Huntington Beach’s family, fun, community, and history; a Centennial Ball and Silent Auction on January 31, 2009; and a Citywide Beach Party on October 3, 2009.
The success of this Celebration depends on the support, concern, and participation of companies, organizations, patrons, and residents that care about the community. The Huntington Beach Centennial Committee’s Mission is to educate, celebrate, and commemorate. The Centennial Celebration Committee invites you to support this important mission through donations and sponsorship.
Our donation and sponsorship program offers you great benefits and a chance to help the City celebrate its 100th Anniversary. The Centennial Celebration Committee of Huntington Beach is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization, meaning all of your donations are 100 percent tax deductable. Major sponsor packages start at $1,000 ranging up to $100,000. Benefits of these sponsorships are wide and include event tickets and seats, merchandise, recognition at events and in printed and promotional materials, and much more.
Already, three notable local organizations have sponsored the Celebration through generous donations. Fountain Valley Regional Hospital gave the Celebration Committee their first “kick-off” donation of $10,000. Huntington Beach’s own Rainbow Disposal has signed on as a Celebration Sponsor. Through a donation of $100,000, the Celebration Committee is excited to announce the Robert Mayer Corporation as the Title Sponsor of the Centennial Celebration.
You do not have to donate thousands, or even hundreds, to make a difference and help support the Centennial Celebration. The Centennial Celebration Committee welcomes donations of any size. Recently, a Centennial Celebration donation envelope was mailed to all Huntington Beach residents. This envelope offers residents an easy, no hassle way to donate what you can do to support the Centennial Celebration. All you need to do is fill out the envelope, include your check or credit card information, and mail it back. For a donation of $25 you will receive a commemorative decal, for a $50 donation you will receive decal and lapel pin, for $100 donation you will receive decal, pin and limited edition commemorative medallion, and for a $250 donation you will receive all of the above and your name engraved on a paver placed near the time capsule. This is a great opportunity to be an integral part of celebrating Huntington Beach’s 100th Anniversary.
