| (2) Warner Avenue Gravity Sewerline |
Project Name: CC-1269 Warner Avenue Gravity Sewer Project (This project is not related to the Hearthside Home Development)
Project Location: Between Los Patos & Pacific Coast Highway
Scope: Construct 4,100 feet of new gravity sewer main along Warner Avenue; between the new Lift Station 'D' project on Los Patos / Warner and Pacific Coast Highway. The gravity line will be installed using the "micro-tunneling" method in which 9 vertical shafts will be installed to accommodate the boring machine. The new gravity line will allow for the abandonment of 3 existing, problematic Lift Stations B, C & D.
Start Date: August 2006
Estimated Completion Date: To Be Determined (TBD)

Progress as of November 16th, 2007
Current Phase Of Work In Progress: The stock piled pipe on Warner Avenue will be removed and stored at an off-site location the week of November 19th. Remaining work on the Warner Avenue Gravity Sewer Project, from Los Patos to Pacific Coast Highway, has been halted due to various, installed, pipe segments not meeting the design intent. The design engineer has indicated that segments of the pipe may possibly be repaired and salvaged to meet the intended use. The Design Engineer and the City of Huntington Beach will conduct further assessments over the next several weeks including additional soil investigations that will allow the design team to report the condition of the pipe including plans for continuing construction of the project.
The city will, where possible, modify the traffic control on the street to minimize the inconvenience to the residents and motorists. Unfortunately, the traffic control will remain on Warner Avenue for an additional 90 days, or more, to allow the engineers and contractor to properly investigate the pipeline and develop an acceptable solution.
Detours:
- Remaining traffic control on Warner Ave., east of the channel, will remain in place until Eastbound traffic control modifications are made to allow for the restoration of the Westbound vehicular lanes and bike lane.
- Warner Ave. speed & lane reductions for both East & West Bound traffic will remain in effect.
