at the
Luis M. Ochoa Job Center
Located at 18131 Gothard Street – just south of Talbert – and open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 am to noon, the Luis M. Ochoa Job Center can assist residents and contractors in locating temporary workers for landscaping, painting, moving, construction, plumbing or other projects. The Center is a safe, centralized location, free from street traffic and residential neighborhoods at which prospective employers and employees can access to seek and arrange for temporary work.
The Huntington Beach Economic Development Department contracts with Coastline Community College/Coastal Regional One-Stop Center to provide day-to-day administration of the Community Job Center. Two employees operate the Center on a day-to-day basis. They register participants seeking employment, check for valid identifications, and give basic counseling on work habits and employer expectations. Both employees are bi-lingual and can assist with needed translation services between potential employers and employees. Nearly 4,950 placements were made in local homes, gardens and job sites in 2007, and the Community Job Center is confident that you will find the help you seek through accessing their service. For more information about the Community Job Center, please call (714) 841-0637.
